At Modern Global International Schools (MGIS), our curriculum reflects the philosophy of the IB Primary Years Program (PYP), emphasizing inquiry-based, student-centered learning experiences. Through the integration of the six transdisciplinary themes, students engage in meaningful, relevant, and authentic units of inquiry that connect learning across subject areas and real-world contexts. This dynamic approach is supported by dedicated educators, thoughtfully designed resources, and interactive digital tools that foster curiosity and exploration.
As an IB-PYP school, MGIS is fully committed to implementing the core principles of the program. Our instructional practices are guided by the PYP’s emphasis on nurturing internationally minded learners who embody the ten attributes of the IB Learner Profile. We strive to develop students who are inquirers, thinkers, communicators, risk-takers, knowledgeable, principled, open-minded, caring, balanced, and reflective, preparing them to contribute positively to the improvement of our global society.
In addition, MGIS prioritizes the development of students’ Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, equipping them with the tools to think critically, collaborate effectively, manage themselves, conduct research, and communicate with confidence. Students are empowered to take ownership of their learning by exercising agency, expressing their perspectives, making informed decisions, and reflecting on their growth as learners. By embedding these practices within the framework of the PYP, MGIS ensures its students are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of an interconnected and evolving world.

At MGIS, the Middle School program for Grades 7 to 9 follows the US Common Core State Standards, providing students with a strong, well-rounded academic foundation for high school. The curriculum emphasizes both academic excellence and the development of essential social skills, encouraging students to think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others. Through its rich and diverse learning experiences, MGIS prepares its students to confidently face future academic challenges thrive with passion and actively contribute to an ever-changing global community.
